4- Enable federation
Enabling federation allows your users to communicate with communities on other federated servers. You should disable this option if you only want your users to communicate with registered users on this server.
5- Allow guest users
Enabling guest users will allow individuals read-only access to rooms on your server without requiring that they register for an account first.
6- Enable public registration
Enabling public registration allows anyone to register on and use your server. This is great if you want your community to be able to register and use your server. However, you may wish to disable this if you would prefer control of the users registering on your server.
Whitelisted registration domains & email addresses
Public registration is off, please set the domains or email addresses from which users are authorised to register. If you don't want to limit registration, please enable public registration. Please enter list of domains and email addresses that registration should be allowed from, separated with spaces (and optionally commas).
7- Custom DNS
These options are for advanced setups. Enabling custom DNS will allow you to set custom DNS records for your hosted homeserver or Tekos web client. This is great if you want your community to be able to register with Tekos IDs for your domain (e.g. 'bob:example-company.org').
Custom Homeserver domain
Set your organisation's domain name. This will allow your users to find your Tekos homeserver at your domain name and register with tekos IDs on your domain. You will need to verify ownership of this domain before your server will be able to federate with other servers. Custom homeserver DNS will not be set if this field is left blank.
Custom Client domain
Set the domain where your default homeserver client (your Modular Tekos-web instance) will be found. You will need to set a (CNAME) DNS record to point this domain entry to the Tekos instance. Custom client DNS will not be set if this field is left blank.
